Japan is less racist than Israel by DragonQuestWes Japan is less racist than Israel by DragonQuestWes
Now this is not in any way saying that there is no racism in Japan at all. I'm actually trying to point out that if you think Japan is racist, wait until you go to Israel.

In fact, Israel is even a FAR worse place to live in than Japan. Yes, there is racism in Israel, even more so than all the "racist" countries combined. Japanese racism is mostly from politicians and the Uyoku Dantai. Israel on the other hand, bulldozes Palestinian homes, put Ethiopian Jews on birth control and they even discriminate against anti-Zionist Jews. I could list more, but I think it's rather obvious that Israel is as Norman Finkelstein would put it, a "Lunatic State."

My point is, if you're going to bash on weeaboos about how Japan isn't paradise, you might as well bash on Zionists about how Israel is a cesspool of racists and warmongers. Otherwise, don't bitch and complain about "weeaboos" because you're just as ignorant and stupid as they are.

And Zionism is supposed to be a form of Israeli nationalism and I greatly oppose any concept of "nationalism" that is really just racism.

If you're going to talk about how Japan committed war crimes in WWII like the rape of Nanking and what not, I'm just going to say "No shit Sherlock." The US also committed war crimes too whether you want to believe it or not. They didn't give a shit about saving lives from the Axis.

Yes it is. Like 99% of the world.

Misogyny is not a regional issue. It's not a religion issue. It's a men issue.

You're a tokenizing shitbag.

Nope. Women are allowed to serve in the Israeli army. In Saudi Arabia, women aren't allowed to drive.  If I were a Palestinian,I'd rather remain in Israel than a backwards Sharia hellhole like Iran or Saudi Arabia.
Also I would like to point out that ethnic Palestinians work in the Israeli government. I love the fact that you insist that what's going on in Israel is a genocide(a few dozen Palestinians killed in conflicts is not a genocide),but you deny actual genocides(Holodomor).

You do realize how collectively racist you are do you? By categorizing Palestine with Saudi Arabia and Iran.

You know that Saudi Arabia and Iran don't like each other and Palestine has a history of expelling Palestinian immigrants.

Saudi Arabia is the only PURELY backwards shithole in the world. Nowhere else.

You do not have the right to start your argument with "nope" like that when confronted with simple facts. It doesn't work that way.

I'm not. However it is a fact that PaleSStinians(not to be confused with Palestinians) such as Hamas hate Jews and want a Sharia theocracy.

I know that. Palestine expells...Palestinian immigrants? That makes no sense.

Have you seen Iran's laws? Their last Ayatollah was a Holocaust denier and an anti-semite. Homosexuality is punishible by death in Sharia states. Also Iran freaked out over the 2012 Olympics logo because they thought it spelled "Zion".

Don't tell me what to do.

It seems a lot of protestant Christianity has been hijacked by Zionism, even to the point of becoming what I call "self hating Christians." It's like they're Jew Wannabes. Nothing wrong with being Jewish, but it's the reasons why. It's like they want to be Christian, but they're ashamed of themselves and think the only way to be cool and accepted is to put Israel on some kind of pedestal. Although we should "love our Neighbors as ourselves" as shown by the gentile Good Samaritan, these people would do well to remember that "God is no respecter of persons." People should get equal treatment. NO second class citizens in heaven. It's almost like these Zionist Christians feel like they have to go through a group of people to get to heaven or something. Last time I checked, doing that was an act of treason against God according to the Christian faith.
These Zionists are beginning to do things against their own Christian faiths to help somebody else with theirs. Makes you wonder who they're really loyal to. Some even saying America was founded to wipe out Islam.
Look, I was a veteran in the United States Army, Military Intel AT THAT. But I don't want to wipe out all muslims. I served with 3 muslim females and was damn proud to do so.
And it's ironic, I leave my hometown for 6 years, 4.5 of it in the military, and I come back to an uncomfortable number of cops patrolling the streets in military gear. And I find out that guess who's put on terror watch lists? Not only Muslims, but Evangelical Christians, Veterans, and Homeschooled Kids. I'm super pissed, because I'm both a homeschooled kid and a veteran. Like I said I served with some Muslims and I was raised around Evangelical Christians. I may be conservative, or moderate leaning right, but I think why the Zion owned government and their FEMA concentration camps is targetting a lot of Evangelical Christians is because they tend to go for liberal causes.
Now I don't go for liberal causes, at least not their solutions. But the thing is, I'm not as conservative as I used to be, mainly because of Israel's BS (USS Liberty, Lavon Affair, Samson Option, Dancing Israelis on 9/11, ties with Soviets, AIPAC and ADL treason and spying, selling our info to China and Russia, taking part in a genocidal holocaust against Christians-and others-by being part of the Bolshevik revolution and Communist movement-I mean seriously Russia killed more people than Germany and we're just supposed to act like that's ok? and war crimes in Gaza are just the most recent Icing on the cake.) The Elite Zionist in America tend to be the left wing complimenting Israel's right wing. Same creature.  So some of these Christians aren't for Israel. And I'm a minoriity of conservative leaning individuals who isn't fascist for Zion. Kinda lonely over here, ya know?
I hope none of this was imposing. If you want to talk to people, speak in their language. Simply calling somebody's sacred text as stupid won't win them over. But convincing people with the truth, and making it agree with their text, now THAT tends to shut some people up.
Love, a Veteran.

1. Japan has been racist mostly towards Chinese and Koreans, sometimes Ainu and Ryukyuans.
2. Not buying it. Israel is NOT the victim here. In fact, less Israelis are being bombed and the number of Israeli casualties decrease year by year. More and more Palestinians are being murdered and occupied and not to mention that African immigrants in Israel face racism too. You can even ask Ethiopian Jews about how much discrimination they face in Israel. Palestinians do not get the full rights they deserve in Israel either.

SOMETIMES racist to the Ainus? You're forgetting the forced assimilation and active attempts to eliminate Ainu language and culture...less than 10% of the Ainu are able to preserve that still today.

And you forget that there is not ONE victim, but that Israelis and Palestinians make each other victims. Greater numbers of casualties don't make existing deaths any less tragic.

I don't deny the history of forced assimilation of the Ainu into Japanese society.

Also you're committing the logical fallacy of Middle Ground by saying "both sides have killed each other. If you're looking for a debate to play the "both sides have done bad" card, this is NOT the place to do it.

It's one thing to compare the actions of the Israeli public and government with that of the Japanese public and government. The Japanese as a very homogeneous society fully endorsed the gov't's policy of forced assimilation and stealing land; while the Israeli gov't has done considerable harm you have to consider the very real struggle between the centre and left with the right wing to prevent this as well as the government manipulation of the people's fears of each other rather than the Israelis and Palestinians truly hating each other...

And how exactly is that a fallacy? Not only does your argument fall into [link], [link], and [link], but it only validates that rather famous quote attributed to Stalin. The main issue should NOT be the placing blame; rather, ADRESSING contributing factors in order to create a balance and harmonisation between both sides.

But then, why bother if you argue that this is not the place to discuss politics? You did bring that up...

My argument does NOT fall under any of those fallacies. You have not read the fine print of this poster.

Strong arguments are void of logical fallacies

The conflict between Palestine and Israel is NOT the place to say "both sides are bad." Israel is a very right-wing society regardless of "left-wing/right-wing." And yes, I support a one-state solution for Palestine although for the moment, I just want Israel to stop building settlements in the West bank and just lift the blockade on Gaza.

Japan is rather tame compared to Israel. I'm not denying the fact that Japan has committed atrocities towards the Ainu and thus the Ainu should have a reason to demand accountability from the Japanese government. Same can be said with Okinawans.

Alright, as a varsity debate team member (hells to the yeah) I can point out those fallacies, my favourite being B&W - assuming the situation can be pinned on a single contributing issue rather than a myriad of factors. The fact remains is that BOTH sides in control of the government are increasingly right wing, whether its the Israelis or the Palestinians, and they fully well know this and use the very tangible fear Israelis and Palestinians have of each other in order to influence policy and action, like rockets launched into kindergartens or bulldozing houses. This isn't assuming a "Middle Ground" stance, rather, it shows accountability for both.

I didn't mention anything about a "state solution," though the two state solution seems rather sound to me.

Also, as quiet as Japanese affairs are in the world, Japan does have a lot of problems with a very pervasive racist mentality as well as issues with sexism. However, it's difficult to actually compare to Israel precisely because of the homogeneity of the islands as well as it not belonging to a conflict zone, not in the way Israel, the KSA, Kuwait etc are despite being rather wealthy and much more stable than other nations nearby.

I believe you're a smart person, even if we disagree on several counts. Please let's keep this civil so we can have a good debate. I don't want stupid internet arguments or a flame war. These kinds of topics should be intellectually stimulating.

I never assumed that rocket attacks didn't happen towards Israel. If you think about it, those attacks have not killed any more than four or five Israelis. Does it make it okay? Of course not. But you have to remember who has suffered the most casualties. Especially from the "If Americans knew" site.

If this two-state solution idea would really work, I'd like to see evidence of it working.

I agree with you that Japan has a lot of these problems. In fact, I'm willing to believe you on the "sexist" and "racist" thing considering that it's pretty much the only country I know that literally sells women's underwear in vending machines and that it's the same country that paid Brazilian workers to leave the country. Now I admit the "sometimes" part was setting the bar too low.

I'm glad you and I can understand where we're coming from in our points of view, but I can be rather blunt.

Heres a short history of Israel (Someone else made this)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
History
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
History of the Jews in their land (Occupied Jews)
According to archiological and historical records and findings, a Jewish community was in the land of Israel since about -1200 BC. Archiological evidance support the claim that the government and Jewish political force that ruled that land was called "Yisrael" (ישראל, Israel), until it broke apart into two governmental forces: "Yisrael" and "Yehuda" (יהודה, Judah, Judea, Judaea, Iudaea). In -740 BC, the Assyrian empire took captivity over the Kingdom of Israel, and exiled it from their land. From historical accounts, the people of Israel did not return to the land of Israel. Judah stayed alone. From the name Judah (יהודה, Yehuda), the people received the name Jews, people of Judah (יהודים, Yahudim). In -586 BC, the Babylonian empire came into Judah, and exiled it's people to Babylon, while destroying the Temple of Jerusalem. In -538 BC, the Persian empire conquered the Babylonian empire, and let the Jews go back to their homeland, and to Jerusalem, as stated in the "Decree of Cyrus" (הצהרת כורש, Hats'harat Kuresh). Between -538 BC until -515 BC, most of the Jews finished returning to their homeland, and rebuilding the Second Temple of Jerusalem. The Jews were stll under a foreign occupation (the Persians).

In -332 BC, Alexander the Macedon (the Great) captured the land of Israel from the Persians, and started the Hellenistic occupation over the land of Israel. In -140 BC, the Jews received their second independence in the Hasmonean kingdom of Judah, but in -37 BC, the Roman Empire took down the Hasmonean kingdom and set Herod the Great to rule there.

In -4 BC, Herod the Great died, and his 4 sons tared the government apart into 4: Iudea province, Iudea proper (biblica; Judah), Samaria and Idumea (ancient Edom). In 6 AD, the Romans added all of those regions together to the Iudaea province, a Roman province.

On August 4, 70 AD, at the center of the Great Jewish Revolt, the Romans destroyed the Second Temple of Jerusalem, and sent half of the Jewish population into Exile.

In 135 AD, after the Bar Kochba revolt, the Romans sent all of the Jews into exile from their homeland.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changing of the name
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Romans, in a try to erase any memory and evidance, changed the name of the region from Iudea, or Israel, into Syria Palaestina, after the ancient Minoan people living in the area by the name of Philistines.

Philistines, Hebrew פלשתים Plishtim, from the semitic rout P.L.SH (פלש) Palash, which means "Invaded". After the Roman empire fell, the Ottomans took control of the region, and they changed the name from "Palaestina" to the Turkish and Arabic sound of "Filistin".

When the Ottoman rule over the land of Israel collapsed, the British took control of the region and called it the "British Mandate of Palestine", driven from the Roman and Turkish word of Palaestina and Filistin. The official Jewish name of the land and of the mandate was המנדט הבריטי על פלשתינה (ארץ-ישראל) Ha'Mandat Ha'Briti al Palestina (Eretz Yisrael), "British Mandate over Palestina (Land of Israel)".
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recent History
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In November 29, 1947, the United Nations Security Council presented a partition plan for Palestine (Land of Israel), [link: [link] ] which presented a Jewish and Arab country within the borders of the British Mandate. Although the Jews received only 40% of their historical and anscestral land, they said YES to the suggestions, while the Arabs said NO and called 9 other countries and 11 military forces to attack the unprepered, and unarmed Jews. The attacking countries/militaries were Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Holy War Army (futurely the PLO), Arab Liberation Army (Army of the Arab League) and the Muslim Brotherhood (Mother organization of Hamas). This war was called the Israeli Independence War.

On May 14, 1948, while fighting, Israel declared it's independence in the borders agreed by the UN.

With 2 helicopters and no tanks, Israel won the war, and conquer some more land from it's promised and historical land. During the fight, the Arabs who lived in the area, ran away (under an order of the Arab League) to Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Egypt for refuge, but the Arab countries did not recognized them as refugees and did not gave them a status of citizens (except Jordan, who it's 2/3 of citizens are Palestinians, and the rest Bedouines).

In the meanwhile, Egypt ilegally captivated the Gaza strip, and Jordan ilegally captivated Judea and Samaria (and changed the name to the West Bank).

In 1959, the term Palestinian was invented by the Holy War Army, and they changed their name into the "Palestinian Liberation Organization". During those years between 1959 to 1967, the Palestinian Liberation Organization and Hamas, launched thousands of rockets and sent thousands of terrorist and exploding bombers, from the West Bank and Gaza Strip into Israel.

In 1967, Israel was attacked by 12 countries and the PLO from every direction. The attackers were Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Kuwait, Tunisia, Sudan and the PLO. Isreal won, in SIX DAYS, and captured back Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) from Jordan and the Gaza strip, from Egypt, also conquering Sinai and the Straits of Tiran from Egypt, and the Golan Heights from Syria.

Since 1948, there are 5000+ Israeli who were killed officialy by Palestinian hands, only from terrorist attacks.
