Seriously. The military and the police overall do NOT give two shits about you or your rights/freedoms. They only make money for the government.
The military does not fight for your "freedom" or "rights" regardless of what country it may be that they would protect. Unless you're Shamar Thomas, Scott Olsen or even Bradley Manning, wearing a uniform and repeating what your military leaders tell you does not make you a hero. You are not defending my rights either. I don't buy into this "support the troops" bullshit. Before you say "You don't need to support the war, but you can still support the troops," I will tell you that I support neither. It's not just the invasions alone that make me give them an overall negative attitude, it's the behavior of the US soldiers as well as what they do towards the local population of the countries they claim to protect or to be allies with. Also, there are chances that you would not even get the benefits that you would want being in there. In fact you may even end up homeless:

I could go on talking about the war crimes committed by the US military but there's just way too much to the point where they can't even be listed here.
Now about the police, they don't give a shit about you either. The police has gotten their share of white-knighting by so-called "law-abiding citizens." Being a "law-abiding citizen" doesn't mean jack shit, because the police are NOT obligated to protecting you (or anyone for that matter).([link])
Just admit it, the police HATE criticism. They HATE legitimate protests. And they HATE anyone who doesn't kiss their ass 24/7. The OWS protests are a blatant example of that. Real Life =/= Judge Dredd.
